During the month of December, I focused on contacting people, and arranging meetings for 2021 January.

I reviewed the notes and resources that I have gathered during October and November, and prepared for the upcoming months interviews. I have also made bullet point notes on the resources so it is easier for me to read the details from the texts and videos.

I did some additional research about refugee women, and found a video which was a collaboration production of Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace, and Security(GIWPS) and International Rescue Committee(IRC).

This resource focuses on the wage gaps, and women employment rates. The source provides us that the highest refugee women employment rates are seen in the US, which is 40%, but as low as 6% in other countries such as Germany, Jordan and Lebanon.

I have created a document to write down questions to ask an interviewee from USCRI, United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. I also wrote questions to ask my interviewee. Before the interview, I thought it would be appropriate for me to research about USCRI, so I did some research.

USCRI is short for the U.S Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. This organization is a non-profit and non-governmental organization. They are established to protect the rights and address the needs of persons in forced or voluntary migration worldwide and support their transition to a dignified life. USCRI, founded in 1911, is based on Washington D.C.

While formulating the questions to ask the interviewee for USCRI, I also took an extra step and formulated questions that focused more on economic values for my next possible interview.

I have rescheduled my liaison meeting, so I could have a meeting after winter break.
